Upgrading store bought brownie mix is a simple way to create a decadent treat and act like you are an all star baker with only half the work! And although I typically enjoy making the majority of my recipes from scratch, sometimes having a little help form a box mix – like this keto friendly Birch Benders brownie mix – is just the way to go!
That’s what makes these bakery style Turtle Brownies so simple to make! Besides the box brownie mix, all you need is almond butter, maple syrup and coconut oil to make the caramel filling, and some pecans because it’s not TURTLY without pecans!

And can you believe it – these brownies are actually Keto friendly if you use the brownie mix I used by Birch Benders! They are also dairy free and can be made gluten free if necessary by using a gluten free brownie mix instead!
I’ve always been a brownie lover, they were my favorite treat growing up, especially with some powdered sugar sprinkled on top (if you haven’t tried it, run and do it now)! However, that was all before I tried brownies that had been filled with caramel and topped with pecans. I am pretty sure this is my favorite way to eat brownies these days. And it can be your favorite too by following the simple recipe below!
PS – I have included all of my go to Gluten Free and Dairy Free baking ingredients on my Amazon Shop Page to make it easier to make my recipes just like I do! You can use this link to shop 🙂
