Vegan Baked Cherry Donut Holes

September 1, 2021

All Recipes, Breads, Breakfast, Sweet

Donut holes that you can easily whip up at home – no need for a fryer or yeast! These baked cherry donut holes will be a staple in your house once you realize just how simple they are to make!

Not only are they simple, but they are gluten free, dairy free and totally vegan. Perfect for anyone in your family or friend group who may have allergies or dietary preference 🙂

I make a lot of donuts around here, but just once I wanted to try making the holes – and no, they didn’t technically come from the center of a previously made donut. They are actually just made using a muffin tin (or a mini muffin tin if you have it).

Enough with the chatting, let’s get into the details!

So how did I keep these donut holes gluten free + vegan. Well let me tell ya!

To keep them gluten free, I used Birch Benders Paleo pancake mix instead of flour! I truly think this is what makes the holes so fluffy and light!

The other simple ingredients that make the donut vegan instead of using eggs are Georgia Grinders cashew butter (linked with 20% discount), Culina vegan Sour Cherry Almond yogurt, and maple syrup.

I do want to mention that the Georgia Grinders cashew butter has a thicker texture than most other cashew butter’s I have tired, so if you are not using that brand, the ratio in the recipe may need to change. This is the only brand I’ve tested the recipe with though.

Ready to get baking?!

Be sure to use the links above or in the recipe box below to shop the same products I used for this recipe! You could always try other yogurt flavors – I think I may try blueberry next 🙂
