Oatmeal is definitely a go-to breakfast around here. I love how versatile they are – you can basically make them any flavor you want, and then the topping possibilities are just endless!
Sometimes though, I like to have a more protein filled breakfast. Oats are super high in protein, so I like to give them a little boost. sometimes this looks iike a heaping tablespoon of protein powder, but another GREAT option to add a little protein into your oatmeal is by making EGG WHITE OATS! I know, sounds super strange, but trust me on this one! It certainly adds some protein, but the FLUFF factor that the egg whites give the oatmeal is NEXT LEVEL!
One of my favorite egg white oats recipe are my Apple Pie Egg White Oats! I’m going to take you step by step on how to make this delicious, filling, satisfying, and perfect for fall breakfast!

Step 1. cooking the oats. I usually use about 1/2 a cup of oats and cook them stove top! I just think they taste better when cooked on the stove. Allow the oats to come to a boil and cooke for about 2-3 minutes before moving to the next step!
Step 2. once the oats have cooked alone, pour in about 3 tbsp egg whites. Be sure to stir continuously once you’ve added them to the pot to ensure the eggs don’t scramble. No one wants a bowl full of oats mixed with scrambled egg whites! Cook together for another 2-3 minutes.
Step 3: Once cooked, add in the flavor! For these apple pie oats, I suggest adding some apple pie spice (cinnamon, all spice and nutmeg will work too) and some maple syrup for a little sweetness. Cook oats for another 2-3 minutes to finish.
Step 4. Pour cooked oats into a large bowl. And now comes the fun part – topping!

Step 5. in a sauce pan, sauté up 1/2 chopped apple in cinnamon and coconut oil.
Step 6. Top the bowl of oats with a couple spoonfuls of your favorite yogurt (I suggest a vanilla or plain yogurt mixed with some cinnamon for this recipe).
Step 7. Top with sautéed cinnamon apples.

Step 8: add a giant spoonful of your favorite nut butter mixed with cinnamon (highly suggest mixing nut butter with cinnamon – its AMAZING)!
LAST STEP: Devour – be careful not to hurt yourself scarfing it down – because you won’t be able to resist!

I promise, this will quickly become a go to breakfast, just like it is for me!
